I'm going to wimp for now and put the story developments in point form, if one of the players wants to do a better job and write this up properly, it would not only be greated appreciated it would also probably be a great improvement. I just don't seem to have the time anymore to juggle these things. ^_^ But either way.. It will be updated once every two weeks or so.
- People of all sorts of walks of life are visited in their dreams by a beautiful woman who speaks of a warning, retreat to Vancouver. Those who could not afford it, found the means, those who did not have the time were given the time. The only suspiciously missing people were those of the Christian Church and Politicians..
- August 23rd, 1997. Vancouver, Canada is racked with an earthquake, registuring at 8.3 on the Richter scale. Buildings fall, bridges are destroyed, cars blow up, guns seem to self-destruct. All sorts of tales of strange things get passes amongst the survivors. A population of 2 million is decimated to 50,000.
- August 30th, 1997. A parchment scroll shows up to every residence in the city where people are being housed. Those without housing recieve the parchment on their packs, etc. The parchment holds an 'invitation' to meet at 6pm three days hence at Robson Square. (Downtown.)
- September 2nd, 1997. 50,000 people gather in downtown Vancouver where a woman manifests claiming to be Aphrodite, ancient greek goddess. She spends the next couple of hours explaining what has happened, prooving she is who she claims, and ends up leaving in disgust at the humans who still refuse to believe. (Aphrodite claims that magic has returned to the new world, the old gods of the greek come back and that the Christian God has abandoned the world..)
- A group of people start discussing what Aphrodite had to say, they meet the first cleric on the new world, a cleric of Slamorac God of Fire. (Oddball). The group agrees to go to the downtown Library and look for knowledge and answers there.
- The group seperates to search, they find some sort of negative place creature 'haunting' the library. It taunts and harrasses the group for a while. The first group manages to hold it off long enough to escape, the second group fight it but start to lose, the third group manage to reach the second group and help defeat the beast.
- Tired, hurt and hungry the group retreats to where a White Spot (restaurant) once stood, they move the rubble and find it mostly intact. They eat and then posting guards go to sleep.
- In the morning the group deciedes to go get some camping equipment and head up to the water sheds and city's dams in the north mountains. They go to a camping store where they meet a friendly chap and his wife who hand out equipment from the store. (Obviously not their own.)
- The group continues it's treck to the mountains when Cortland makes a shocking discovery..
